Casiano Movie Night: Rio 2

Rio 2 came out today on DVD.  My Beautiful Monster had seen it with her dad at the theaters, but I had yet to see it.  I decided to turn today into a special movie night with a special themed menu.  Here are tonight's scraps of life:

I had fun coming up with some last minute ideas for our Rio 2 movie night.  My Beautiful Monster loved drinking Roberto's "Cool"-er out of the clear glasses, and I loved seeing her get all excited as we decorated for our movie night.

Party: Mission Completed

I'm glad the party is over.  This was my first time having a party that wasn't in my backyard.  It was hard handing the control of certain things over to the skating rink staff.  So many things I wanted to do, but too many limits.  But when I look at the smile on my Beautiful Monster's face, I know that she didn't care about all the little details that I was worried about.  She was having fun!

We'll see what ideas we have for next year's party.

Party Central-Continued

Party Central Project 3:  Goody Bags
I think I love party organizing because I love the "Thrill of the Shopping Hunt", and shopping for a Frozen Party was definitely a Huntswoman's dream since everyone is hunting for Frozen merchandise.  Here are the goody bags I was able to put together for the teens and little kids.

There are quite a few older kids coming to the party, and I know they all secretly want a Frozen bag of goodies.  I included all the same candies and snacks as the little kids and I added a Frozen Writing Pen for them.

My daughter (who is a summer baby btw) knew since the movie came out that she wanted a Frozen Party, so I have been searching every store possible since December.  I got the bags for the little ones from Subway  (one of my mom's coworkers likes their kids' meals A LOT, so I got those for free).  My favorite find for the girls were the Frozen Glow Sticks and Anna's Winter Boot of Lip Gloss.
Finding stuff for the boys in Frozen merchandise was difficult.  I tried to find stuff in the blue colors, and then I just added some Olaf stickers to keep it Frozen.  My favorite goodies that the boys are getting are the Sven Antlers and the Kristoff Glow Stick Axe.

We loved stuffing the bags with all kinds of "Cool Blue" candies and snacks too!

Update-I found these cute Jelly Belly Treats at Party City when I was picking up my balloon order on the day of the party.  I couldn't resist adding them to the goody bags.

Party Central

This is my first attempt at a blog, and I have become inspired by all the crafts I have undertaken since having my daughter (aka Beautiful Monster).  I have come to find over the years I really enjoy throwing my Beautiful Monster birthday parties, and this past month my dining area has become "Party Central" again with her birthday being this weekend.  My daughter is turning 5, and like every other little girl on this PLANET, she wanted a Frozen Party.  Well, she wanted an Elsa Party (why doesn't any one like Anna) at our local skating rink.  She has been taking lessons since January and has really loved being out on the ice.  I've had lots of fun combing through Pinterest and Googling Frozen Birthday Party Ideas and getting inspired.  Here are my Scraps of Life for this week:

Party Central Project 1:  Since my Beautiful Monster is having an ice skating party, these centerpieces are supposed to resemble the water fountain in Arrendelle where the sisters skate at the end of the movie.  I got the 3 piece figurines from Wal-Mart, and everything else from a local party store in downtown.  It was something my Monster could help me with too.

Party Central Project 2:  I bought the Party City Frozen invitations, but I knew I needed something a little more unique.  I made these snow globe invitations from a water globe kit I got from the Dollar Tree.

It took me a while to figure out that glitter does not fall gracefully in water.  I ended up filling the globes with rubbing alcohol and a mix of silver, blue, and white glitter.  They came out perfect.I printed these sticker labels using a free printable I found at Disney Baby and added all the party information for our guests.  These were fun making and delivering to our family and friends.
